1. Why soy wax?

Soy wax is a clean and renewable resource and it is made in the US. It is natural, nontoxic, and cleans up easily with soap and warm water. Not only is soy wax healthier for you and the environment, it also burns slower than paraffin. The scent throw of soy wax is just as strong as that of paraffin wax. Paraffin is a byproduct of petroleum so by using soy wax, you are not inhaling petroleum fumes – pee-ew!!

2. What ingredients are in your products?

We use soy wax, phthalate-free fragrance oils infused with essential oils, and vegetable oil base liquid dyes. From time to time, we like to add the tears of our enemies to our products.

3. Do you offer free samples?

Every purchase of $15 or more includes one free #meltdown smiley face. This will allow you to sample some of our other scents.

4. I can buy wax melts for cheaper at a big box store. Why are your products so expensive? 

You should buy from us because we heard that the big box stores employ toddlers to make their products, they have them work 25 hours a day and only give them 2 breaks per shift. Come to think of it, I can’t even motivate my toddler to brush her teeth so that’s quite impressive.  In all seriousness, our stuff is handmade in our home and we pride ourselves in providing good quality products. When you buy from us, you know exactly who makes your product and, if there is an issue, you’ll know who you will be talking with.

5. Are your products vegan and nontoxic?

Our products are vegan and we can’t stop telling people about it. Around here, we care about animals a whole lot. In fact, our accountant is a Pitbull named Vinnie. Our marketing VP is a Poodle named, Lexi, she is responsible for everything written on this website so if anything offends you, please direct all of your communication to her.  Just as we love animals, we love our customers very much so we make all of our products nontoxic.

6. Where is your store based?

All of our products are handmade and shipped from Vernon, Connecticut. Currently, we do not have a brick-and-mortar storefront.

7. What is your return and exchange policy?

All sales are final and we cannot provide any returns, exchanges or refunds for any order.

8. Can I order items as gifts?

Sure thing! You can ship items directly to the recipient and we will not include pricing on the invoice. Please be sure to let us know in the notes that it is a gift. Unfortunately, gift wrapping is not available. 

9. Do you wholesale?

Yes! We love our stockists! Since we hand pour all of our products, we are limited to the number of wholesalers we can partner with. Send us an email with your name, business name, address, and website. Once we review your information, we will determine if we are a good match.

10. Can you customize labels for my wedding/bridal party/baby shower?

Absolutely! Currently, we can only customize our #gummymelts. There is a minimum purchase of 6 items. We do not add logos or change to color/looks/style of our labels. Please contact us for more information.

11. What services do you use to ship your product?

Our preferred method is by pigeon post followed by pony express which guarantees you will receive your product at least 6 months after placing your order. When those options are unavailable, we ship our products via USPS.  We usually ship our products within 1 to 3 business days of placing your order. Once shipped, most orders take anywhere from 2 to 5 days to arrive.  You will receive a tracking number in an email.

12. Do you ship outside of the US?

Unfortunately, pigeon post or pony express do not deliver that far so we do not provide international shipping.

13. I placed an order and then changed my mind, can I cancel the order? 

Maybe, but only if your order has not began to be processed. If it is being processed, then your order is in God's hands now and cannot be cancelled. Sorry!

14. What if my order arrived damage or is missing items? 

Start by sitting down. Find relaxed, comfortable position.  Relax your body, letting go of all tension. Take notice of your respiration: in and out. Keep your mind from wandering. Keep doing this for 5 to 7 minutes. Now that you are relaxed, email us to discuss the issue at scentsandnonsense@hotmail.com.  

15. Do you charge sales tax?

Yes, we charge a 6% sales tax for orders shipped to Connecticut. 

16. What is your privacy policy? 

We promise not to share your personal information with any third party because two is company, three is a crowd. What do you mean that is not what that saying means?!
